Why Choose Us
Family, domestic and sexual violence is preventable, and training is an essential piece of the journey to a future free of violence. Stopping Family Violence trainers are driven by the mission that everyone has a right to live a life free from the fear or threat of violence. Stopping Family Violence (SFV) is the peak body for perpetrator response in WA and is the leading independent body for delivering family and domestic violence training. You will not only be engaging a training provider but also an organisation that can partner with you to address any questions, support implementation, apply best practices, and drive ongoing improvements and advancements.
Our trainers have over 120 years combined experience and have worked across family, domestic and sexual violence, mental health, alcohol and other drugs, courts, prisons, corrections, hospitals, health & wellbeing services, disability services, counselling, violent offenders’ programs, therapeutic services, men’s behaviour change programs, children and adolescents programs and behaviour change, as well as working with families experiencing violence and countless years of combined experience working directly with perpetrators of violence. SFV has trained people from all kinds of sectors in a vast number of roles in the community, sports clubs, workplaces, intersecting services, first responders and specialist services. We work with those who want to know more about the issue right through to specialist training developed specifically for those working in front-line roles in family and domestic violence.

In Western Australia, countless agencies and practitioners are dedicated to intervening with perpetrators of Family and Domestic Violence (FDV), whether through group settings or individual sessions. Specialist practitioners commitment to this work is invaluable, yet the work can be demanding and isolating. To support this important work, we invite you to join us in the Perpetrator Intervention Community of Practice. The Community of Practice is for Men’s Behaviour Change Program – group facilitators, practitioners and individual counsellors, Caring Dads facilitators and practitioners and partner contact workers. Sessions are online via TEAMS on the Second Wednesday of each month, 12pm – 1.30pm. These sessions are provided for free to eligible practitioners. Please reach out to us for registration.

A workshop for educators and coaches (or anyone who has an influence) in children and young people’s lives on how to help support and promote healthy behaviours and attitudes. Learning what drives family and domestic violence helps us understand how our influence and approach can help with primary prevention and early intervention. We can help support you with children and young people’s healthy and respectful relationships in a range of environments. Training will be tailored to the age group you support as the conversations we need to have look different as they grow.

- 1-Hour Workshop (8-10 modules)
This 10 module series is designed around a whole of school approach. The package includes training for school staff and a train-the-trainer model for educators and youth workers to learn to deliver the series of 1-hour workshops over 10 weeks.
The program is focused on early intervention to help boys and young men to understand healthy and respectful behaviours and attitudes. Knowing the components of a healthy relationship can assist young people in establishing positive connections that enhance their emotional, mental, and physical health. Recognising and managing problematic behaviour allows individuals to maintain relationships that are nurturing and supportive.
